pines & the others
Feb. 1st, 2005 03:06 pmшелест ветра в верхушках деревьев,
скрип сосен на ветру,
со всех сторон - будто переговоры птиц
ясень, который в прошлый раз держал две римских IX,
теперь показывает X и II
занесенная снегом тропинка в никуда;
обратно - большой оранжевый кусок коры
недалеко от выхода из леса пять белых коз,
поедают зелёных ёжиков, опавших с сосен,
живот одной из коз велик, она ждёт малыша
за лесом скрипит старый кран и шумит другая жизнь

Paul Schutze & Phantom City - Site Anubis
Feb. 1st, 2005 07:27 pmSite Anubis (Big Cat, 1996) inaugurated a new trilogy,
dedicated to architectural wonders. The suite was
composed by Schutze but played by a "virtual" ensemble,
named Phantom City: Bill Laswell on bass, Lol Coxhill
on saxophone, Julian Priester on trumpet and Alex Blues
on clarinet, Dirk Wachtelaer on percussion, Raoul Bjorkenheim
on guitar. They never met, but simply improvised
over Schutze's electronic score.
The result was a solemn form of cosmic jazz.

Paul Schutze - Third Site
Feb. 1st, 2005 07:41 pmThe relationship between Architecture, sound and
the navigation of memory and awareness is a constant
theme in Schutze's work.
In 1999 as part of his seminal Site Works series,
Schutze began a work which started to explore the
extraordinary Janta Manta astronomical garden
in Delhi, India. Built in the eighteenth century by
Marharajar Jai Singh II, Janta Manta is a complex
of architectural structures and instruments,
which were used to measure and observe the heavens.
